Job description
Learn and Grow Childminding is looking for a warm, enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to join our home-based setting, where small groups of children receive nurturing, nature-focused care tailored to their interests.
The successful applicant will be required to register with Ofsted and will be supported throughout the registration process by the lead childminder.
In this role, you will be caring for children during school hours while the lead childminder focuses on other responsibilities. You will be caring for small groups of children (up to six at a time), mostly aged 0-8, with occasional supervision of older children. You will be caring for preschoolers and home-educated children most of the time and school-going children during holidays.
The Early Years Practitioner will take the children outdoors come rain or shine, helping children to connect with nature, be it puddle jumping, snowman building, or pond dipping. Passes can be provided to places such as Coombe Abbey, Kenilworth Castle or Brandon Marsh to facilitate nature-focused outings.
The Early Years Practitioner will take the children on outings to local places such as the library, art gallery and museum.
The Early Years Practitioner will co-ordinate activities with the lead childminder, being mindful of the needs of the children, the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage, and the flexitime arrangements of the Early Years Practitioner. The lead childminder will provide regular supervision to identify concerns, celebrate achievements, collaborate action plans and support the Early Years Practitioner’s wellbeing.
The Early Years Practitioner will be given access to training and professional development.
If you're passionate about childcare and want a flexible, family-friendly role, we’d love to hear from you!
