About me

My name is Georgie, and I’m the childminder behind Learn and Grow Childminding. We are a small childminding setting based in Bilton, Rugby, UK.

I have a BA qualification in Working with Children, Young People and Families (2008) and 15+ years of experience working with children and families in many different settings. I am also a home educating mum to three children.

Anya is a childminding assistant, and she joins us for a few hours every day. Anya takes care of the younger children while Georgie takes time to focus on home education and other tasks.

We are both Ofsted registered and our safeguarding and first aid training is updated regularly.

The setting

The setting is designed to be a home from home, with all the home comforts you’d expect: sofas for snuggling to read, rugs for stretching out to play, and cushions to throw in a home made den. This home has the bonus of being Ofsted registered and inspected and following the Early Years Foundation Stage (the English government’s targets for the learning and development of children under 5).

We weave the educational framework into our day-to-day play, giving children the chance to learn and develop at their own pace. We are inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to children’s education which appreciates that children enjoy learning in many different ways - so we use many forms of education: song, dance, sculpture, drawing… anything that sparks children’s natural curiosity.

We love to spend time outdoors, whether we are in our beautiful garden or visiting places further afield. We spend a significant amount of our time outside enjoying nature in all weather.

You can follow us on Facebook to see what we get up to.
